Double hat-trick of wins leaves Team Parker Racing close to Porsche titles

Team Parker Racing enjoyed another strong weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB as it took six wins out of six at Silverstone to leave it on the verge of an incredible sweep of championship titles.

Championship front-runner Harry King bounced back from disappointment at Thruxton in style as he claimed pole position and wins in both races, while Esmee Hawkey did the same in Pro-Am, and Justin Sherwood, despite missing out on pole, took both victories in the Am class.

Behind them, there were two great drives by Josh Webster, who unusually struggled in qualifying but passed nine cars across both races, though lost out in race one with a time penalty for exceeding track limits. Ryan Ratcliffe was disappointed with his performances in Pro-Am, though he still claimed two second place finishes to keep the pressure on Esmee in the championship, and Justin Armstrong rebounded from contact in race one to muscle his way to second place in Am in race two.

In the British Touring Car Championship, Stephen Jelley had a mixed Sunday as he finished a strong ninth in race one, but sustained damage while battling for fifth in race two, finishing 20th. He made his way up the order during race three before a red flag but lost out while fighting for 14th place on the second start, crossing the line 18th, a disappointing return after early promise.

Team Parker Racing returns to track this week with the two-day 24 Hours of Spa test with Bentley Motorsport Academy drivers Frank Bird, Nicolai Kjærgaard, and Euan McKay, while next weekend (October 3-4), Nick Jones and Scott Malvern are also in action in a Bentley Continental GT3, in the British GT Championship at Snetterton.
