Team Redline Racing And Nigel Rice Unite For Porsche Carrera Cup GB Return

Team Redline Racing will continue their long and successful partnership with Nigel Rice this season as the experienced racer makes an exciting return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB after more than decade away.

Rice previously raced with the Teesside squad in the Carrera Cup GB between 2004 and 2008. Contesting exactly 100 races, he was a leading driver in the Pro Am category and won the class title in dominant fashion in 2007.

Team Redline Racing reunited with the Yorkshire based racer in 2020 and contested the first two seasons of the Sprint Challenge GB together. Rice was a leading force in the Am class throughout, recording a great total of 18 podium finishes across the two years.

Rice, who will race with the support of Firewood Warehouse, is Team Redline Racing’s fifth confirmed signing for the 2022 Carrera Cup GB. The defending champions are also running Adam Smalley, Oliver White, Micah Stanley and Nathan Harrison.

Simon Leonard – Managing Director: “We couldn’t be happier to have Nigel continuing with the team into 2022. He’s been a loyal member of the team for many years and it will be great to see him back racing a Porsche 911 Cup car.

“Nigel did a fantastic job in the Sprint Challenge GB over the last couple of years, picking up a lot of trophies along the way. Hopefully it will be more of the same this season and it’s been a promising start with his pace in pre-season testing.”

Entering its 20th year in 2022, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB is one of the most competitive and exciting championships in the UK. Utilising identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the series has been the launchpad for a number of professional sportscar and GT drivers.

The 2022 season will be contested over eight events at the best circuits in the UK, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
